Sales associates explicitily lie to you so you sign a contract

I would never recommend this gym to anybody. The associates (Tannaz Taghizadeh) will explicitly lie to you in order to get you to sign a contract that obligates you to pay much more than any amount they say you will have to pay. I wish I had never walked into that gym, overall I give this establishment an honest 0/10. Hopefully people will eventually realize what Extreme Fitness and the employees are trying to do and take appropriate actions by never setting foot in that gym again, I know I wont.
I first saw an advertisement offering 19.99/month with no annual contract. When I went in to checkout the offer I was taken care of by a woman named Tannaz Taghizadeh I went in knowing that an annual contract wouldn’t be feasible for me as I was planning to live in the area for a matter of six months at most. When sitting with her I asked her if there was an annual contract, she said there was not, and then I asked her how long the minimum term was, she replied, “4 months.” After explaining my payment methods, and available services I signed the contract trusting her word. Later I found out that there were an additional 9 obligatory payments of $70.00/month.
I acknowledge I could have read the contract from head to toe to ensure she was telling the truth but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, unfortunately that was a mistake. Upon realizing the terms of the contract I went in to speak with a manager, after explaining the situation and arguing with the manager for 10 minutes I demanded to speak with Tannaz Taghizadeh, the woman who signed me up with the contract, not surprisingly, she didn’t work there anymore, but her leaving was said not to be because of her deceptive customer relations act. I ended up having to pay for 6 months membership I couldn’t use.
Before realizing what had taken place during the sign up process I under went my initial fitness evaluation. Upon taking my test the trainer brought me back to the office where I was to meet with one of the gym managers, I was followed into the office by the trainer who stood in front of the door, while the managers suggested I use a personal trainer. I thanked him for his advice, but explained to him that I couldn’t afford the personal trainer. He proceeded to offer me my “very own” payment plan that spread out my payments over longer periods of time, (I realize now that it was likely to get my name on a piece of paper that obligated me to spend exorbitant amounts of money which he had up to that point, failed to mention). The trainer decided to speak up, mimicking the manager’s suggestions I repeated my answer several times, wondering if I was ever going to get out of the office. Eventually he reluctantly gave up, but explained that if there was anything I needed, I could come to any of them at any time, and that he would “see me around.” Oddly enough that was the last time I was even acknowledged by the trainers or the manager, even though I crossed paths with them frequently. I guessed they realized they couldn’t get anymore money out of me so they just proceeded to act like I didn’t exist.
I was agitated by the lack of maturity displayed and shenanigans going behind the desk while customers were waiting in line; on one occasion the receptionists were too busy braiding each other’s hair to help anybody. One another they were wrestling each other behind the desk while a line of people waited to get in because the card of the person at the front wasn’t working properly.
The layout is brutal as it is basically two separate spaces if you are trying to maintain a certain routine at this gym don’t bother, it takes you 3 minutes to walk back and forth to different pieces of equipment. The gym is over crowded anyway so even if the machines are beside each other you’re not going to maintain any rhythm.
